A Sense Of Pride In Our Community

Parks and Recreation

Central Butte Splash Park

The Central Butte Splash Park's grand opening was held June 28th 2017 in conjunction with the annual family barbeque.
The Herbert Herald provided a very nice write up which can be seen on their Facebook page.

Many thanks to the Splash Park Committee members, Nicole Hallborg, Audra Peterson, Tanya Schafer, Wendy Depper, and Deanna Hallborg,
as well as the all the generous private and corporate donors without whom this would not have been possible.

Central Butte Flyers Senior Men's Hockey

Central Butte Flyers Senior Men's Hockey

The Central Butte Flyers is a senior men's hockey team playing out of the Sask Valley Hockey League. We have had a long history of competitive players and teams over the years. We've always taken a lot of pride in being a successful club who has been made up mainly of local talent. We're committed to the community and anyone who has been involved will tell you there's a special bond among our team.

I am currently organizing a reunion for July 8th 2017. 2017 marks the 10 year anniversary of our team winning the only provincial title in the history of the team. We invite anyone who has had any involvement with the he team over the years to attend whether it be players, staff or spectators. I personally look forward to diving further into the history and hearing the stories from every generation who us been involved.

If anyone has any info or would like to be involved, the Flyer email address is centralbutteflyers@outlook.com.

Coach of Senior Hockey is Dallas Bryan and manager is Larry Peterson.

Artist William Phillpott

Artist William Phillpott

Philpott’s works capture the landscape of the prairies, particularly showcasing the unique beauty of southern Saskatchewan. As Philpott says, “I paint the rural area as I live in it today. I try to accentuate the power and colour of the windswept skies and prairies of southern Saskatchewan. I paint the landscape and I liberally flavour it with figures of and clues to the industry of those who live on and work the land.” His works tend to incorporate a somewhat abstract technique; Philpott has explained: “I don't go after the fine details. I want to capture the mood, the character of a place.”
